PC Repair System is a Windows 95 and 98 toolbox that includes many utilities
PC Repair System is a suite of utilities that is designed for the person who works on PCs. Whether you are an enthusiast or an IT professional, this suite gives you a toolbox that you can have on you at all times. The total footprint is about 32 MB, and it does not require installation, so you can just copy it to your favorite USB flash drive and have it on your person at all times.
The suite includes more than 30 tools that can be invaluable at any given time depending on the computing challenge you face. If you intend to use this suite locally on a single machine, then you may be better off just choosing the individual utilities you need. However, this collection is invaluable when you may not know what kind of problem you are going to need to solve.
PC Repair System contains too many tools to list them all here. Instead, we will focus on the tasks that the suit looks to overcome. If you have a bloated Windows registry or a drive lacking space due to many unnecessary files, then you can use a tool like CCleaner to get rid of them.
Likewise, if you want the Windows user experience just the way you like it, you can use TweakUI. TweakUI provides access to all of Windows customization options—including the buried and hidden ones—in a centralized location. TweakUI even supports profiles. Get your profile perfect just once, and then, you will have access to that particular configuration on any PC.
PC Repair System includes apps to clean and defragment internal and external hard drives. It can copy CDs and DVDs and create ISO images. If you need to compress and decompress files, it can handle almost any compression format. It can monitor files and processes, help you edit the registry, patch programs and Window itself and much more.
As Windows 95/98 has been deprecated, the developer has moved on and chosen not to continue developing this suite for newer Windows version. The application still works quite well. The final release is stable, but if an issue ever does arise, you may be out of luck. Nevertheless, if you still have Win 95/98 systems for whatever reason, then this cool can continue to prove quite useful.
